Position Summary
The IT Instructor provides technology instruction and digital literacy coaching to Work Force
Development (WDF) program participants. This role ensures participants gain the practical IT
skills, software knowledge, and digital confidence needed to succeed in training, on-the-job
learning, and future employment opportunities. The instructor also contributes to programs’
improvement and collaborates with WFD staff to integrate technology into career readiness and
personal development activities.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Instruction & Digital Literacy
Plan and deliver engaging, project-based technology classes.
Teach Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic business technology skills.
Provide guidance on digital communication, professional online behavior, and online
safety.
Support participants in using software and digital tools required for OJT, apprenticeships,
and career tasks.
Participant Assessment & Support
Track participant attendance, engagement, and progress.
Assess skill development and provide individualized feedback.
Support participants in applying technology skills to workplace tasks, assignments, and
projects.
Program Coordination & Improvement
Collaborate with WDF staff to integrate digital skills into career readiness programs.
Provide recommendations for program improvement, new digital tools, and instructional
methods.
Maintain instructional materials, lesson plans, and learning resources.
Collaboration & Communication
Communicate participant progress and challenges to supervisors and relevant staff.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience teaching or training participants in technology or digital skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other common business
software.
Strong knowledge of digital literacy, online safety, and professional online
communication.
Ability to plan and implement project-based learning activities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable supporting diverse learners, including those with limited prior experience.
Collaborative, hands-on, and self-motivated.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency required.
Experience working with pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or workforce development
programs is a plus.
Work Environment / Schedule
Part-time
On-site for classes, workshops, and participant support
Collaboration with other program staff is required.
