With experienced staff, children will enjoy hiking, kayaking, scavenger hunts, creative projects, and mindfulness practices designed to enhance peer-to-peer relationships and student/teacher relationships needed for learning.

Allies In Caring, Pineland Preservation Alliance & Pinelands Adventures have combined forces to create an exciting three-day outdoor adventure camp designed to connect our youth with nature, science, and stewardship. By encouraging play and exploration, creativity and problem solving, camp participants will have the opportunity to develop relationships with the natural world and become stewards of the environment.

Camp participants will explore forests, rivers, and meadows, identify flora and fauna within our local ecosystem and gain knowledge of sustainable foraging practices. With experienced staff, children will enjoy hiking, kayaking, scavenger hunts, creative projects, and mindfulness practices designed to enhance peer-to-peer relationships and student/teacher relationships needed for learning.

Studies show that spending time in nature improves children's psychological and physical well-being. For example, spending one day a week outside significantly improves the daily cortisol patterns- reflecting less stress and better adaptation to stress, and has been known to improve self-discipline and resilience.

Students will meet at Allies in Caring in Hammonton, NJ, where Pinelands Adventures staff will transport them to Wharton State Forest for scheduled activities. Lunch and water will be provided by Allies in Caring. Kinetic & Somatic Arts Educator Lisa Zeuner, PPA Biologist Carlos Martinez Rivera, Mycology Educator Jullian Alvarez and staff from Pinelands Adventures will guide the students on daily nature adventures.
