We are looking for emotionally intelligent interns who would like to be a part of a multicultural team of licensed professionals and advocates for underserved populations. As an Allies in Caring intern, you will help people foster their well-being and coping mechanisms. With support from a senior mentor you will gain experience in:

  • Planning, coordinating, managing and implement healthy habits to help clients deal with difficulties and overcome adversity

  • Interviewing community members and assess their current condition, needs, strengths and weaknesses 

  • Referring clients to community services  

  • Advocating for Youth & Adults 

  • Individual & Group Services 

  • Behavioral & Therapeutic Interventions 

  • Resilience along with ability to assess situations 

  • Educational Workshops 

  • Non-Profit Operations 

  • Resource Development & Navigation 

  • Homebased, Office, and Community based Services

Requirements: 

  • Must be fluent in Spanish or have a history of being immerse in the Latino/ Hispanic community for at least 2 years 

 

  • 2 years experience working with children and/or families a plus 

  • Working knowledge of social theories and practices 

  • Must have a Driver's License and be able to attend in-person meetings in Hammonton, NJ

  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships 

  • Ability to relate and communicate with diverse population and groups 

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to think on the spot​ 

  • Willing to submit to a background check/fingerprinting
